Step 1.
Add the rice to a saucepan and wash it until the water runs clear, then drain.
Step 2.
Add the water to the saucepan with the rice and set the pan over a high heat. Bring it to the boil, place a tight-fitting lid on, turn the heat down to low and let it steam for 12 mins – do not remove the lid during this time.
Step 3.
Once the 12 mins have passed, remove the pan from the heat. Fluff the rice with a fork then pop the lid back on and leave it for another 10 mins to finish steaming.
Step 4.
Before serving, fluff the rice using a fork.
