We enjoyed this. Yes, the aubergine does need longer to cook (I did 10 minutes instead of 5 at the start). I used tin foil in the airfryer to avoid a messy clean up, which worked well. 2 tbsp Gochujang is enough…

I agree with Elliot below - the gochujang is overpowering. It tastes like it smells - just like gochujang. Also, this definitely takes longer to cook than it states, I have had it going in the air fryer for 30 minutes and the aubergine still isn't cooked, and despite following recipe to the letter I doubt it will be sticky, it's watery. The recipe also says you need to add olive oil - but when? It's missing from the steps. Definitely won't make this one again, it's abysmal. Sorry.

Hi Louise, I'm sorry you didn't like this one. I've added to a retest list taking on the suggestions in the comments. A note on airfryers as well - they vary widely, so always good to trust your instincts! x

Even with the adjustments made from the previous comments, this seemed to just be way too much spice. I'm normally pretty good with the heat level but the gochujang over powered. I put slightly under 3tbsp but it just seemed to lack another flavour profile. Maybe some citrus to level out the flavour. It was salty and spicy and definitely has something there... but we actually couldn't eat it because of the spice. Very similar to previous review.

Perhaps we got a particularly spicy gochujang (or are just a bit pathetic!) but for us this was inedibly spicy. I think there’s a great dish in there but if you are only a ‘medium’ sort of spicy person I’d do some modifications! (And we only used 3 tbsp of gochujang based on the previous reviews!).

Found that the cooking time.for the aubergines was no where near long enough - cooked them so a further 10 mins to get them soft enough

I enjoyed this dish but I found 5 tablespoons of gochujang to be too much. 3/4 would have been adequate for me for the amount of aubergine and sausage.
