I made this today! Delicious! Love love the salad. I also really enjoyed the tamarind sauce on its own, when cold (before cooking). I think you can add the sauce on a salad and it would be perfect!// note: I'd recommend adding the fish sauce in the end, rather than letting it reduce with the sauce.
